Hello, I have ordered from iHerb also but the last shipment I ordered, and the most expensive, still hasn't arrived after 4 weeks. Have you ever had to wait that long?

I'm not sugar free (although I need to be) and neither is my GFCF son. His yeast is actually fairly under control as of the last stool test we did. Just wanted to say, though, that I understand what you're going through. Sugar seems to be a double edged sword.

Have you considered bacteria as your culprit? Our son gets emotional, difficult, angry and defiant when bacteria rises. As you bring down yeast, bacteria often rises. GSE causes more problems for the bacteria in our house so we avoid it. We use oil of oregano three times a day and we have added in a few things like olive leaf extract once a day and Caprylic acid a few days a week on rotation. We also combine the oil of oregano with Biotin and a No Fenol tablet which helps break down the cell walls, allowing the "remedy" to kill it. We have had to use prescription strength meds for the bacteria twice now, in fact we are still on our second course now. It's been rough, but once this stuff kicks in, what a change!!!

We are working (slowly) to be sugar reduced. You can try alternatives to sweeten with such as molasses, maple syrup, honey, malt, beet sugar (we have to yet to find) and rice syrup.

have you tried vega testing? that helps immensely to reduce the foods that you are sensitive to. We were going to go totally sugar free until we learned that most of the other alternatives, we are sensitive to. it saves alot of time as you don't have the elimination diet plus the expense of trying new things only to have to bin them a couple days later.

oh, i have aspies and my son is middle of the road for autism along with half a dozen co-morbid issues. we live on the beautiful west coast of cnd and recently started lurking here :())

hi! thanks for sharing your story...it has given me a push not to give up...
I have a little question, maybe you can help me: if we accidently give them a non gf or a non cf does that mean we are back to square one and the past gfcf month just does not count? my son keeps finding the food he is not supposed to eat and i feel like after one month of success, we have to start all over, to see results in his behaviour. Thanks again for all your tips!!!

Okay, this is a controversial topic - if you have an infraction, do you start at square one? I think No. Yes you will have some behaviours return. You may see aggression, crying/whining, stimming return etc. But you might find they disappear much faster when you return to the diet. We generally have 1 horrible day & 1 not-so-horrible day after an infraction. Then, Nathan is back to himself. Also, if you are only 1 month into the diet, it is inevitable that slip ups with cross-contamination, hidden gluten/casein have happened, along with the food sneaking. So, don't be too hard on yourself! He is sneaking food because he is looking for the opiate reaction. Like an addict looking for a fix. You may need to completely remove the non-GFCF food from the house for a month to get success. That worked well for us. Hubby was less than thrilled until he saw the changes. Now we can have anything in the house, no infractions.

In Argentina, where they have been hit hard by the swine flu during their winter months, the government has been paying for pregnant women to take 15 days paid leave since they are particularly susceptible to the swine flu. I would far prefer that to vaccinations, thank you very much. http://bit.ly/fLacK

Thanks, Michelle, for the links to the Vaccine Riot Drill & Dangerour Shot in the Dark. Clearly, the swine flu vaccine is a gamble and then some. Within the Utah emergency preparedness circuit (and elsewhere throughout the US), there are many that are very skeptical -- to say the least -- about the vaccine. You're certainly not alone! Thanks for sharing the Preparedness Pro blog with your readers, it's much appreciated.

I put my eldest (mild PDD) on a cf diet 7yrs ago at 2.5yrs of age. Bye bye daily diahhrea and hideous rashes on his bottom, bye bye daily nightmares/terrors including naps. Bye bye tripping, falling, leaning, etc. All within 48hrs.

1 week later, 1 tiny bit of butter on a freezer pancake and HELLO 20hrs of nightmare behaviour, terrors/nightmare, head slamming, screaming... Ugliness... needless to say that pound of butter went into the garbage.

We did try gf about 3mths later for about a year... did nothing and weaned him back onto it.

CF did nothing for his Autistic disorder dx'd younger bro.

Cure... nope... but his stomach wasn't upset, his head was clear, behaviours lessened, and we all got more sleep. His huge gains are all due to hard work on his and our part.

We've weaned him back onto dairy except for fluid milk over the last 6mths. He's able to handle it now. I doubt he'll ever drink it in a glass, he's happier with the soy milk.

This is great! I don't believe that GFCF is a "cure" either, but the fact remains that if you feel bad (sleep bad), you can't learn well either. Getting the gf/cf out of our son's diet has allowed him to work hard & make big gains too.
