I bought these snack bars because Nathan used to live on granola bars. He loved just about any kind, except the ones with jam on top. I thought – perfect – a snack in a box, a small meal replacement & it is fully on the GFCF diet no worries.
The box tells me it is free of 10 most common allergens: wheat, dairy, peanuts, tree nuts, egg, soy, fish, shellfish, sulfites, seasame. Also made without other common triggers of intolerance: potato & casein.
So, it is not just GFCF it is also EFSFNF plus plus… See what I mean, perfect. But the taste? It doesn’t matter how “perfect” a food is, if it tastes bad, it is bad.
The bars are about 1/2 the size of a “regular” granola style bar. They kind of look and feel like soft (very thick) cookies. I would say they taste more of apple-cinnamon than caramel, but are very flavourful. The bars are fairly moist and don’t leave a gritty aftertaste, which I have noticed with other Enjoy Life products. At 110 calories, I was surprised at how filling they are!
Eric declares them “delicious” which is the highest praise a food can receive. I think they are going to be a staple in our house. I purchased these at Shoppers Drug Mart for 5.49/box of 5.
